Are You Going to Watch Marvel’s Avengers Assemble?
Next weekend marks the release of another movie I’ve been waiting for–The Avengers!
Loki, supervillain brother of Thor, has assembled an army to take over the world. Regular forces can’t stop them, so Nick Fury decides to put together a group of superheroes. My favorite, Tony “Ironman” Stark (played by Robert Downey, Jr.), looks like he’ll bring some great humor to an action-packed movie.
If you want to learn more about the characters you’ll see in The Avengers, Jessica O’Neal has been doing a great series on her blog on the history of each, including the Incredible Hulk/Bruce Banner, Thor, Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, Ironman/Tony Stark, Captain America/Steve Rogers, and Hawkeye/Clint Barton.
Has anyone else been looking forward to The Avengers? Will you be seeing it in theater or waiting until it comes out on DVD? And the most important question of all–which Avenger hero is your favorite?

I can’t wait! But alas, I’m going to have to. My hubby works opening weekend and he would be so mad if I saw it without him. We will probably wait a few weeks to go see it, let the crowds dwindle down some. But we are definitely seeing it in theaters first!
Loved the trailer – thanks for sharing! π

I won’t be able to go opening night either. My husband works too, but he has Monday off, so we’re planning on seeing it Monday afternoon π

Enjoy!

Thanks π

I don’t know who some of those characters are and I haven’t seen the indicidual movies, but I am seeing this for sure! It looks so good! And since seeing “What’s your number?” I now have a crush on the guy who I think plays Capitan America. π

They stocked his particular movie with some really good looking men π
Apr 27, 2012 @ 09:17:02
My sister saw this Wednesday night (she and her hubs lucked out and got some preview passes at a comic book store). She loved it, and she isn’t even a big superhero person. (The comic book store errand was for her man, not her.)
I can’t wait to see it. I love Joss Whedon and am sure he did it justice.
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:23:10
They lucked out. That’s awesome π It’s a really good sign if someone who’s not routinely a comic book/fantasy fan likes a movie that falls into that category. Now I want to go even more (didn’t think it was possible…)
Apr 27, 2012 @ 10:33:23
Definitely theatre. This is a big screen experience and I can’t wait!
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:22:03
Some movies you just have to see on the big screen even if you plan to buy the DVD later.
Apr 27, 2012 @ 13:01:05
My son wants to go as soon as school gets out. LOL We will go this weekend. But I can’t get the theater site to load. I’ve been trying this morning and most of yesterday. Sigh. π Don’t want to get in my car and drive all the way over there to get my tickets (Next town over). Ugh! Panics not setting in. NO.
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:21:36
Hehe. I hope you got it figured out!
Apr 27, 2012 @ 14:01:14
Heck, yes. I loved Thor and Ironman, and even my daughter is looking forward to this. However, I doubt we’ll go opening weekend. We’re putting on a new deck, and I make it a point to avoid opening weekend for big films. I might end up in jail if I don’t, lol.
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:21:04
I hate opening weekend crowds. The only movie that actually dragged me from my cave in the last couple of years is The Hunger Games. We’ll probably go see this one on Monday or Tuesday afternoon since my husband is off work then.
Apr 27, 2012 @ 16:48:06
Oh yeah. Totally there. My kids are dying to go too. “We’re not a team. We’re a timebomb.” Trying to decide between the theatre (discount tickets) or the drivein.
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:17:58
We have free theatre tickets and popcorn and pop from the points on Chris’s credit card, so that makes me doubly excited π If your tickets don’t expire, you might as well save them for a time when the whole family doesn’t want to go.

Absolutely yes! This is a MAJOR drool-fest and I’m not missing it. Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo…oh yeah. And I’m buying it as soon as it comes out on DVD. π
Apr 28, 2012 @ 13:19:38
Haha π I was really glad to see Mark Ruffalo take the roll of Bruce Banner. He’s got that perfect balance of handsome next door neighbor and tortured scientist going on π
Apr 28, 2012 @ 18:16:04
I’ll be seeing it, but not opening weekend. I’ll be at a writing conference in Virginia Beach and my husband would never forgive me if I saw it without him. Of course, what he doesn’t know, wouldn’t hurt his feelings!
At the IMAX theatre where we live, they are having a Marvel movie marathon leading up to the midnight release of the Avengers. Before kids, we so would have been there! π
Apr 29, 2012 @ 20:22:19
If our local theater was having a marathon that way, we’d definitely be there too! Captain America finally came out on Netflix, and since we missed it when it was in theaters, we’re at least going to get to watch it before we go.

I’ll be there on opening day. Really looking forward to this one. I grew up on Marvel comics!
